Rare Disease Day 2023: North South Event

On behalf of Rare Diseases Ireland (RDI) and Northern Ireland Rare Disease Partnership (NIRDP), we would like to invite you to join us at the annual North-South Rare Disease Day virtual celebration on Tuesday 28th February from 1.30 pm to 3 pm being screened from the Long Gallery at Stormont, Belfast.  

The event is being sponsored by All-Party Group on Rare Disease MLA’s Mark H Durkan, and Deborah Erskine with support from the Department of Health. 

The presentations at the Virtual event will provide:

  • An Update on rare disease policies and plans
  • Overview of All-Party Groups on rare diseases
  • Review of the work of RDI and NIRDP

The virtual event will close with the launch and first public viewing of a short film from the NIRDP Rare Stories project. The film gives a snap shot of the real life stories of people in the NI rare disease community recorded over 2022 by filmographer/producer Andrew McCombe on behalf of NIRDP, supported by esc films with funding from the Rank Foundation.
